Matt Verta-Ray
Matt is a musician, engineer, producer and the founder of NY Hed studios. He has recorded, performed and toured with such bands as Madder Rose, Speedball Baby, Heavy Trash and The Oubliettes. Known for his distinctive touch nurturing all manner of clients toward their desired musical goals, Matt has recorded and/or produced such musicians as Andre Williams, Ronnie Spector, Lala Brooks, The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Dirt Bombs among many others. He has been been at the helm of the studio continuously since 1992.
Rocio Verta-Ray
Rocio has taught philosophy, directed a film festival and managed and toured in various bands. She is a musician, producer and the studio manager. Both at NY Hed and in studios overseas, Rocio's production style can range from a light, guiding touch to total involvement in the artists' projects, engaging arrangement, composition and editing. She regularly guests in many of the recordings at the studio on organ, vibes, piano and percussion instruments and is an indispensable part of our team.
